Senior Veterinarian | Maternity Leave Cover | Vetwest Bibra Lake

There is a lot happening at Vetwest Bibra Lake and we are excited about what lies ahead.

Following a recent clinic renovation we are rebuilding momentum, growing our loyal client base and creating the kind of workplace where people genuinely enjoy coming to work each day. We are looking for an experienced Veterinarian to join us on a 12–18 month maternity leave cover.

We are looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, taking ownership of their cases and being surrounded by teammates who always have each other's backs.

This is a great opportunity to step into a well-supported role, become part of a close-knit team and make your mark during an exciting period of growth at the clinic.

This role isn't about walking into a busy conveyor belt of appointments. It's about becoming part of a close-knit team, getting to know your clients and patients and helping shape the next chapter of our clinic that is ready to grow.

You will be joining a supportive Practice Manager, three wonderful veterinarians and four fantastic nurses who believe great veterinary care starts with great teamwork. We celebrate the wins together, support each other through the busy days and genuinely enjoy what we do.

If you are the kind of vet who loves the variety of general practice, enjoys surgery as much as consulting and values continuity of care then we are the team for you.

Why you will love working here

🐾 Be part of an exciting growth journey as our renovated clinic continues to evolve

🐾 Join a genuinely supportive team where collaboration comes naturally

🐾 Build lasting relationships with loyal clients who value continuity of care

🐾 Enjoy a varied small animal caseload across medicine, surgery and preventative health

🐾 Strong nursing support that allows you to focus on delivering great patient care

🐾 Clinical freedom to work up your own cases and practice medicine your way

🐾 12–18 month maternity leave cover, with full-time or part-time hours available to suit your lifestyle

🐾 $2,000 CPD allowance plus one week of paid study leave every year

🐾 Access to one of Australia's strongest veterinary networks, with endless opportunities for mentorship, collaboration and career development

🐾 The support of the wider VetWest and VetPartners community while still enjoying the feel of a local neighbourhood clinic

About the role

As one of our veterinarians you will enjoy the variety that makes general practice so rewarding.

You will consult, diagnose, perform surgery, follow your cases through and build genuine relationships with clients who trust you with their pets care.

We encourage clinical autonomy while knowing there is always someone nearby to bounce ideas off or lend a hand.

This is an opportunity to step into a well-established role within a supportive team and with the chance to build strong relationships with clients and patients while contributing to the continued growth of the clinic.

The role includes:

  • Small animal general practice
  • A diverse caseload across medicine, surgery and preventative care
  • Routine and more complex soft tissue surgery
  • Continuity of care from consultation through to recovery
  • Working alongside an experienced, collaborative team
  • Shared weekend roster

About You

We are looking for someone who enjoys being part of a team just as much as they enjoy practicing great medicine.

You will ideally have:

  • 3+ years' experience in small animal practice
  • A DVM (or equivalent) and eligibility for Veterinary registration in Australia
  • Confidence in routine and more complex soft tissue surgery
  • Strong consulting and communication skills
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to support those around you
  • A genuine desire to contribute to a clinic that's continuing to grow

Our recent renovation has given us a fresh new space in our reception area but what really makes this clinic special is the people. We care deeply about delivering exceptional veterinary medicine while creating a workplace that's supportive, welcoming and enjoyable to be part of.

If you're looking for a 12–18 month opportunity where you can make a genuine impact, grow alongside a fantastic team and be part of the next chapter of a clinic with plenty of exciting opportunities ahead the we would love to hear from you.

Apply today and become a part of the next chapter of VetWest Bibra Lake.
