We hire vets, vet nurses and support roles across our general practice clinics and our specialty and emergency hospitals, as well as across all the support functions in our Support Office.
Our Support Offices are in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane in Australia, and Auckland in New Zealand.
Yes. We offer full-time, part-time, casual, fixed-term, contractor and locum roles.

Applying
Find the role you're interested in on our careers page, open the job ad and click "Apply". You'll be guided through a short online application.
Have your CV ready, along with details of your qualifications and, for clinical roles, your veterinary or vet nursing registration.

It depends on the role. Vet and vet nurse roles need the relevant qualifications and registration in the state or country you'll work in, while many support roles don't need a veterinary background. Aim for two to three pages covering your recent roles, clinical skills or key achievements, qualifications and registration. Put your most relevant experience first. Our candidate resources page has more tips.
While a cover letter isn't essential, a short note about why you're interested in the role and the clinic, hospital or team is always welcome.

After you apply, our Talent Acquisition Team reviews your application and gets in touch about next steps. That usually means a phone chat and an interview with the hiring managers. If you're applying for a role in one of our clinics or hospitals, this is followed by a visit so you can get a feel for the team.

It depends on the role and where you are. First conversations are often by phone or video, and international candidates can complete interviews online.

For vet and vet nurse roles, we'll share a competency skills matrix with you early in your application. It helps our hiring managers understand your clinical standing and experience level. If another role requires an assessment or submission, such as some Support Office roles, we'll keep you updated along the way.

No, disclosing a medical condition is your choice. We may ask whether you can perform the inherent requirements of the role, such as handling and lifting animals, with or without reasonable adjustments. However, if a condition could affect your ability to perform your role safely, or could create a risk to yourself, colleagues, clients, or animals, you should disclose the relevant information so appropriate support or adjustments can be considered. Any information provided will be treated confidentially and used only to support you in the workplace

Work rights and visas
Generally, yes, you'll need full working rights. For eligible roles, we can assess whether you may be eligible for visa sponsorship and whether your qualifications could offer a pathway. If you have specific questions, visit our Meet the team page to speak with a Talent Partner.
Visa sponsorship may be available for eligible roles across Australia and New Zealand. The process and visa options differ depending on which country you're moving to, so what applies to you will depend on your destination and circumstances. If you're eligible, you won't have to navigate it alone: we work with a dedicated immigration agent who can guide you through the process, from understanding your visa options to preparing and lodging your application.
We may offer sponsorship for eligible roles. Successful international vets may receive full visa coverage for themselves and their family, a dedicated visa agent, and up to $20,000 in relocation assistance (in AUD or NZD, depending on the country you're moving to). Yes! Many people on a working holiday visa join us for locum work or short-term contracts. Please include your visa type in your application.
Relocation support may be available for eligible roles. Your Talent Partner can talk you through what's available depending on where you're moving from and to. International vets may be eligible for up to $20,000 in relocation assistance (in AUD or NZD, depending on the country you're moving to).

Hours vary by role and location. Many of our clinics and hospitals have rostered shifts, including some weekends, and our emergency hospitals operate after hours. Each job ad outlines the hours.
Clinic and hospital roles are on-site. Many Support Office roles offer hybrid working where possible, and each job ad states the arrangement.

Offers and onboarding
Your Talent Partner will usually call you first, then send your written offer and contract to review and sign.
Your clinic, hospital or Support Office team will be in touch with your onboarding information and details for your first day. Your Talent Partner and team will stay in touch throughout to make sure you're ready and prepared to start.
You'll be welcomed by your clinic, hospital or Support Office team, complete your induction and get set up on our systems. Your leader will let you know your start time and who to ask for.

Graduates and students
That's exactly what our Graduate Program is for. Run across our GP clinics, it's designed to support you from your very first step into the industry.
Yes. The VetPartners Graduate Academy is a 24-month structured program for final-year students and new vet graduates. You'll be placed in one of our GP clinics with support from a graduate manager, veterinary manager and in-clinic supervisor. It won Platinum for Best Learning Model at the LearnX Awards.
