Live & Work a Better Vet Life

The Team Around You. The Network Behind You.

Every year, specialists from Europe and around the world make the move to Australia. Some come for the medicine. Some come for the life. Most come for both, and for the team that makes it work.

VetPartners Specialty & Emergency comprises nine hospitals across Australia, and we’re currently building our internal medicine capability across our network. That means real input into how a department takes shape, backed by a wider community of specialists and peers.

If you’ve ever wondered what it would actually take to practise medicine on the other side of the world, the answer isn’t just the move. It’s the team you’d be doing it with.

Meet the Hospitals

Three of our teams, filmed where they work — real people sharing the medicine they love, the hospital they're proud of, and what the days are actually like.

Meet someone who's moved

Dr Raquel del Solar Bravo
Internal Medicine Specialist, North Shore Veterinary Specialist Centre, Sydney
Raquel trained across Spain and the UK before becoming a Dipl. ECVIM-CA in 2023. She relocated to Australia in August 2025. A year in, she talks about the visa, the support, and what a day off looks like when you live near the water.

What you're probably wondering

It depends which hospital, and we’ll tell you straight. Some are established specialist teams with surgery, emergency and anaesthesia already in place. Others are building internal medicine from the ground up, with the specialist shaping it. Both are real, they just suit different people.

Veterinary work is on Australia’s skilled occupation list. Our dedicated registered migration agent supports the process end to end, including for eligible members of your family unit.

Recognised specialist qualifications are assessed by the Australasian Veterinary Boards Council (AVBC) as a first step toward registering with an Australian veterinary board. We’ll walk you through it before you commit to anything.

It depends on the pathway, so this is one of the first things your dedicated registered migration agent assesses, right up front, to make sure we know exactly how we can support eligible family members from day one.

Beaches, national parks and genuinely good coffee, but also school runs, mortgages and Monday mornings. It’s a life, not a holiday. That’s rather the point, you’re just on the other side of the world.
